Spirit of The Paul Mission
1. The absolute assurance of salvation
We need to do His missionary work with a grateful heart for His great salvation,
saying, "How could I pay back for His grace given to me?"
2. The absolute calling
A missionary should confirm the calling from God to serve a missionary
for his life. Without definite sense of calling he cannot be faithful to
his task commissioned by God.
3. The absolute prayer
A missionary must be a student of prayer school. While Jesus ministered
on the earth, "He offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries
and tears" (Heb 5:7). Martin Luther prayed for two hours a day. A
missionary worker needs to pray to God for his needs, believing that God
will provide for the needs.
4. The absolute thanksgiving
The Scripture says, "Give thanks in all circumstances" (1 Thess
5:18). Give thanks to God after your prayer, believing that you've received
what you requested to God. Complaint, grudge, and irritation are products
of the devil. The Lord says to you, "Do not be anxious about anything."
Thank God and praise Him seven times a day, while entrusting to God all
your matters you worry about.
5. The absolute obedience
Jesus was "obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross"
(Phil 2:8). The Bible frequently mentioned the concept of obedience. It
teaches slaves to obey their masters, wives to obey their husbands, and
Christians to obey their Lord. We must obey our Lord because He is the
King. God could use mightily men who obeyed Him in light of history. Learn
biblical lesson regarding obedience towards God, authority, and leaders.
Obedience is voluntary to people who love.
6. The absolute commitment
A missionary needs to have an attitude in which he is determined to be
buried in his mission field after he finishes his mission on its soil.
Jesus also died on His mission field, which was the earth. It was because
of commitment to the cause of the kingdom of God that financial supporters
for world evangelization contributed to the expansion of missionary work
emptying their pockets to offer to God. We want to serve God with commitment
and sacrifice as the Lord said, "Freely you have received, freely
give" (Matt 10:8).
7. The absolute love
Move forward with love the Prophet Jeremiah cherished in his heart aflame
with God's love. Ordinary people might do missionary work without love
for people. Missions demands a missionary with love for the lost. A missionary
needs to say, "Christ's love compels us" (2 Cor 5:14), as the
apostle Paul said to his hearers. Follow in the footsteps of great men
of God who loved even their enemies. Real love enables us to accomplish
the missionary work successfully.
