and responsive populations worldwide, The Paul Mission is involved also
in many types of specialized missions as follows:
Church planting, Missionary training, Pastor training, Theological education,
Development & research institute for missions, Discipleship, Ministry
through business, Prison ministry, Children Ministry, Christian Broadcasting,
Family Counseling, Music ministry, Literature ministry, Education ministry,
Sports ministry, Bible distribution, Mercy ministry, Ministry for the handicapped,
Christian Internet ministry
Evangelism
Through Bible distribution/Sports/Internet
Evangelistic efforts are a basic task of most of missionary workers of
The Paul Mission though their gifts are different and various. As one of
the sevenfold spirit of the mission agency is to minister with total love,
missionaries should approach the lost with compassion and mercy to save
them from eternal punishment. And the evangelism has a goal of establishing
churches in unreached area.
Methods of evangelism are diverse. Missionaries of the Paul Mission use
Christian literature (in Turkey), sports (in Japan, Kyrkyzstan, Argentina,
Philippines, and Indonesia), internet (in Azerbaijan, Turkey), and radio
broadcasting (in Thailand) to share the gospel as well as they do personal
evangelism in which they have contact with people individually.
Church planting
Church planting is essential to evangelizing the world. No missionary work
is complete which does not have as its goal the establishment of new believers
in the faith and in churches for the purpose of reproducing themselves.
In Acts we see the apostles and evangelists moving out to the frontiers
in obedience to Jesus' commission. Everywhere Paul went he preached the
Gospel, made disciples and appointed elders to lead the new churches he'd
planted.
God's primary method of evangelizing an area is by planting a New Testament
church to reach the area with the gospel.
Many missionaries of The Paul Mission are involved in the church planting
especially for unreached peoples in Japan, India, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey,
Mexico, Azerbaijan, Sierra Leone, and Paraguay.
Media
In an age dominated by the media, its proper use is vital for the outreach
of the lost. Evangelism by radio broadcasting is going on in Thailand by
a missionary family and it is so effective that many come to the Lord through
the evangelistic message sent by radio wave. The missionary in Thailand
has a plan to set up a Christian broadcasting station for the purpose of
outreach to unbelievers in the land.
Theological Education
(Pastor training institution/Bible school)
In many mission fields many church leaders need theological training. Leadership
training contributes to strengthening local churches by providing quality
leaders for them. The training of fulltime and lay leaders of church is
vital to church growth.
Considering the importance of theological training, The Paul Mission
established Bible schools in Philippines, Indonesia, Brazil, and South
Africa. And another form of leadership training is done by founding pastors
training institutions in which local pastors are trained on a regular basis
according to designated curriculum. The Paul Mission has pastors training
institute in Philippines and Panama.
Prison Ministry
Missionaries of The Paul Mission in America and England minister to inmates
of penitentiaries. The prison ministry intends to convert non-believers
among them and to give proper counselling to the prisoners who need inner
healing.
Mercy ministries
Mercy ministries meet some of the practical and physical needs of the need.
A single missionary ministers to handicapped children in China with caring
and Christian love. God works among them for the miraculous recovery of
the children and such intervention of God in helping them leads to evangelistic
effect toward their family and neighbors.
Missionary Training
Missionary training is one of major ministries of The Paul Mission. It
is necessary for missionary candidates to be trained to work effectively
in mission fields as they minister in the context of native culture.
Missionary candidates of The Paul Mission are trained for five months
in Korea and eight months in Philippines. They are trained in a cross-cultural
environment in Philippines since The Paul Mission established mission orientation
center in Manila in 1987.
Children and Youth
Children and youths are future leaders in society. Educating them with
Christian curriculum will effect them in the way they are open to Christianity
and spiritually receptive to the message of salvation. Ministry to children
and youth can build a strong foundation for a church-planting and discipling
ministry. And children ministry is effective in terms of evangelism especially
in closed countries. Missionaries of The Paul Mission in Nepal, Bangladesh,
Cambodia, and Kenya minister to children and youth.
Family Counseling
Another area of missionary works of The Paul Mission is to provide counselling
for broken families. The ministry of counselling contributes to building
up strong relationship between spouses and to cement broken relationship
between a husband and a wife. The spouses with wounded emotions and hurts
need comfort and inner healing through the means of counseling. This ministry
has a goal of building up a Christian family in Christ. And the type of
ministry is going on by a missionary family in Costa Rica.
